How to care for your pieces

  • Avoid wearing your jewellery while swimming, showering, or in the ocean. Chlorine and salt water can break down the gold layer over time
  • Remove before applying lotions, perfumes, sunscreen, or hair products
  • Put your jewellery on last, after getting dressed and ready
  • Avoid wearing during strenuous activity or while sleeping
  • Store in a dry, cool place, the drawstring pouch included with your order is perfect
  • Polish gently with a soft cloth if needed, avoid abrasive cloths

What is gold-filled jewellery? How is it different from gold-plated?

Gold-filled jewellery has a thick, solid layer of gold bonded to a base metal using heat and pressure. This layer is much thicker than gold plating, making gold-filled pieces far more durable and resistant to tarnishing. Gold-plated jewellery only has a very thin layer of gold applied to the surface, which can wear away quickly with everyday wear. All Tide & Stone pieces use gold-filled components, never gold-plated.

What materials do you use?

All pieces are made with gold-filled components and natural materials. The beaded necklaces feature natural gemstones including moss agate, aquamarine, rose quartz, tiger eye, freshwater pearl, and aventurine. The chain necklaces are gold filled and finished with gold-filled or natural stone pendants. Full materials are listed on each product page.

Are all pieces handmade?

Yes, every single piece is handcrafted by the maker behind Tide & Stone, in small batches, by hand. No mass production, no shortcuts.

What necklace lengths do you offer?

The beaded necklaces are available in two lengths: Princess Length (45cm) and Choker Length (35cm + a 5cm extension, adjustable to 40cm). Chain necklaces are made to a fixed length, listed on each individual product page.

How long will my order take to arrive?

All orders are shipped via Australia Post. Standard shipping typically takes 7–9 business days from dispatch. Express shipping is available at checkout for faster delivery.

What is your returns policy?

We accept returns and exchanges within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unworn and in their original packaging. We are happy to assist with change of mind returns and faulty items, just get in touch via the contact form and we will take good care of you.

What if my item arrives damaged or faulty?

If your order arrives with a fault or damage, please contact us within 7 days of receiving it with a photo of the issue. We will arrange a replacement or full refund as quickly as possible.

How is my order packaged?

All orders are packaged in a signature drawstring pouch with a thank you and care card. Packaging is kept intentionally minimal - beautiful, but without unnecessary waste. All orders are suitable for gifting.
